When they arrived, they were met with an unexpected sight. A massive bull elephant stood at the waterhole, his body rippling with power as he lowered his trunk to drink. His movements were slow, deliberate, like he was savouring each moment. His trunk swung almost mournfully, as if weighed down by the thoughts only he could know.

The children froze. They were silent, watching in awe, their breath caught in their throats. The elephant had heard them, of course. Though they had tried to be as quiet as mice, their presence did not go unnoticed. The bull paused, lifting his head slowly to look in their direction. His dark eyes met theirs, and for a long, timeless moment, they simply stared at each other, a silent understanding passing between them.
