ADDO Place of Mercy and Hope Pre-Schoolers Sponsored Outings
KRAGGA KAMMA GAME RESERVE - CQEBERHA

Hoa Wunderli, from Switzerland, together with other Swiss sponsors collected monies to treat the Grade R's from Place of Hope Pre Primary in Valencia Township, Addo, to a trip to a private game Reserve in Port Elizabeth. Hoa, a teacher from Switzerland, has comes to spend her summer vacation here at Addo Umlambo Bed and Breakfast, doing volunteer work at Addo Township. She together with the teachers prepares the children for these kind of trips and then does follow up work with them based on this project. Thank you Hoa, and all the sponsors for the generous donations. Also a big thank you to Kragga Kamma Game Reserve, who gave a huge discounted Game Drive. Africa Live it Love it Tour Operators, thank you for all the organisation, negotiations, bookings, pictures and getting this project on the road. A personal message from me, Marga Davis, wild life and nature being my passion - there was nothing nicer than seeing the little children enjoying a game drive through the park. This is a treat that many many children can not afford - so REALLY REALLY a BIG THANK YOU to all involved. I hope that these young learners will be inspired and have the opportunity to serve as conservationists in our beautiful Greater Addo Elephant National Park
GRADE R - HOBY BEACH - GQEBERHA

Once again, dear Hoa Wunderli, (Switzerland) together with Umlambo B&B near Addo, and Africa Live it Love it Tour Operators (Marga Davis/Stefan Klein) sponsored the Grade R class of the Place of Hope in Valencia Township, Addo, with a trip to Bayworld and Hoby Beach in Port Elizabeth. We were blessed with the only day of sunshine.....and had the most beautiful day ever. None of the children had ever seen the sea before - so the squeaks and screams, told it all. The day ended with ice creams, which went down well, and topped the most beautiful day ever. The photos of the museum trip will follow shortly. Thank you to Sisters Martha and Breda, for coming to give us a hand, and for all they do. Thank you to the teachers and parents who came with us, so that all the children were well looked after. And of course, thank you sponsors. We have posted all the pictures, as all the parents would like to see their children, and one day, when the children are bigger, they might have access to the internet to share and remember these memories. You have absolutely NO IDEA, the amount of pleasure, it brought these beautiful children!
VALENCIA GRADE R - SPONSORED EDUCATIONAL OUTING

VOLUNTEERING IS A FORM OF HELPING TO BRIGHTEN THEIR FUTURE. The community of Langbos live in dire poverty, in shacks without lights and water. Many are HIV positive, and alcoholism and child abuse are wide spread problems. As a citrus growing area, Addo has only seasonal work and 70% of the community is unemployed between December and March. All these factors contribute to the high incidence of dysfunctional families. With the help of the Sundays River Woman’s Institute, churches and international guests a humble little playschool called Inkwenkwezi (which means star in Xhosa) was built. It is kept open during the holidays. There is an annual summer school for 90 children in December offering different experiences, sport, computer, arts and crafts, music and dance. YOUR TIME and LOVE is a wonderful form of donation. Thank you Hoa Wunderli

Marga Davis, from Bamba iAfrika Live It Love It and Doris Sommer, organised a trip into the Greater Addo Elephant National Park for the Grade R's of Valencia Township - Addo. The children, who live right next to this beautiful Park, here in Addo have never before had the opportunity to see these gentle giants. As Marga’s two passions in life, ....the love of children and.....the the World of Nature, she strives for all our children to have the opportunity to experience an outing to a National Park or Game Reserve. Some of these are beyond financial reach for some families. With the help of financial aid from Doris Sommer, THANK YOU SO MUCH, an outing was arranged. Hopefully we can sponsor many more, so that the love for nature, can be instilled in their heart and the want to learn to become a ranger or ecologist, might grow from these outings.
